Founded by a group of high school athletes in 2022, the Asian American Youth Athletic Association is a non-profit organization that strives to introduce youth to the world of athletics.
Empowering youth through athletics, leadership development, and community engagement. Fostering mental health and emotional well-being through the unifying power of community sports. Together, we champion a future where every individual feels valued, supported, and capable of achieving their fullest potential.
Despite making up 7% of the U.S. population,
2% of collegiate athletes are of Asian descent
0.4% of the NBA is of Asian descent
0.1% of the NFL is of Asian descent
2.9% of the MLB is of Asian descent
It is our mission to increase these percentages, one child at a time!
During the summer, AAYAA organizes affordable introductory sports camps in Colorado and Oklahoma, designed to teach the fundamental skills to basketball, soccer, football, volleyball, swimming, and ice skating. Most importantly, AAYAA camps help improve kid mental health by developing each participant's social skills and helping them build lasting friendships. The skills learned at these camps help kids establish healthy habits that can lead to better overall health in the years to come..
In just three summers, AAYAA has delivered high-quality sports camps to over 450 children. In all three years, AAYAA has maintained a 2:1 camper-to-coach ratio, ensuring that each child gets the specialization and support they need to succeed. Countless AAYAA participants have since joined their local sports teams!
"Thank you to all the coaches and team members. Their effort is very much appreciated! It was our first time attending AAYAA camps but our children loved it. They kept sharing their joyful stories on the way home.

"Everett really enjoyed the camp. He is very hesitant to try new things alone. After Saturday's camp, he thanked us for sending him to AAYAA, and at bedtime tonight he wanted to go back. Please let the coaches know how their time, energy, and care impacted his experience."

"Lucas and Leo were reluctant to come at first, but they now asked me to sign them up for the June and July camps! When they saw me at the ice rink, they were sad that time was up, and immediately told me that they weren't finished yet. Seeing this kind of passion is really encouraging and gave me great motivation.
